James Marshall, a born and raised Medicine Hat local that specializes in brick murals, was commissioned to create one for REDI in 2008. The mural first became a possibility after REDI received a Legacy Grant in 2005 from the province to undertake a project that would demonstrate the acceptance and inclusivity of Medicine Hat. The mural includes 3 individuals who, despite the obstacles and the barriers they face, are active members of the community. Doreen Teel, Henry Ressler, and Kevin Bastel are depicted participating in local events and working within Medicine Hat to show that people of all abilities can live and work within the community.
