MHRS to REDI
The Medicine Hat Rehabilitation Society is renamed to Rehabilitation and Employment for Developing Independence (REDI) Enterprises. This change was necessary to better capture the mission of REDI Enterprises.
Extra Allowance
After receiving funding from the Medicine Hat Legion in 1981, the 860 Allowance Avenue building’s expansion had begun and was completed in 1983. This project was a massive improvement and expanded the building to include a new cafeteria, kitchen, offices, classroom, wood-working area, storage, and Bottle Depot. This change also included many accessibility features, such as carpets that are conducive to wheelchair mobility, extra-wide doorways, bathrooms with lowered vanities, and touch powered door openers.
